Pork chops in the pan
June 13, 2026
These pork chops would go great with the fried apples from the earlier post. I can almost taste them as I look at the picture. Cooking them in our kitchen, with the old exhaust fan, would almost certainly set off the smoke alarm. But it would be worth it to get a good pork chop.
Fall tomatoes
June 13, 2026

Apples cooking in the pan

I don't remember when or where this picture was taken, but I'd like to be eating those apples right now. Fried apples are so good! It would be nice to have them in a shallow dish with some vanilla ice cream and maybe some brown sugar sprinkled on top.

KLM Cheese Sandwich
June 13, 2026
The flight attendant handed me a plastic bag labeled “Hand Crafted Sandwich – Vegetarian Selection”. I wasn’t very hungry, since it was the fifth meal I had been served in the last 24 hours. Out of boredom I tore into it. It was a cheese sandwich. My initial thought was “This is just sad. After all, it’s almost brunch time.”
Leaving Lewiston
June 13, 2026
